Ikea Trip

After swimming lessons, the whole family went to Ikea. I was looking for a table and chair set for Chelsea for her birthday. We didn't get it, but that's another story. Still so happy we went. We walked around the whole showroom and checkled out almost everything. The kids had a blast sitting on chairs, playing in their mock up rooms, lying on beds, opening kitchen cupboards. By the time we made it to the kids area they were well worn out and we didn't spend as much time there as I thought we would. We did pick up these really neat kiddie dishes there. They asked their dad if they could get them. He said sure. Surprised me! Check out the cool goodies below...

Earlier I spotted a really great CD Tower and thought my stamps would love it. I curently had 3 cd storage things and hated every one of them. I knew this would be perfect. My lucky day because Perry was agreeable to that too. He even carried it for me, and then put it together almost as soon as we got home. I'm a lucky woman. I made space for it in my room and cleaned off my cases and have it all set up. I LOVE it! Check out the tower in the pic below. The pic below is of the Black/Brown one but the one I have is black. The pic of the black one just didn't show up so well. Here it is...

Skate On!

So today TJ has his 3rd skating trip with his class. This is the 3rd time I went with them. how could I miss it!

I'm happy to report that we both are doing better on skates thatn the last two times. lol TJ spent about 1/2 the time not holding my hand. How cool is that! You go not so little guy! :) Mommy is very proud of you. I think next year we should definately do skating lessons. He really needs to learn how to get up after a fall all by himself. I think he could do it now, if he believed he could. As for me, I'd love to go for a skate on my own without worry about crashing into falling kids. It gets a little hairy on that ice with them all over the place. lol BTW, my son has declared me to be the bestest skater. Good boy! I'll remember that. Oh wait, I already did. We went to Tim Hortons for Hot Chocolate and Brownies after school was out. Nothing like quality chocolate lover mom and son time. Ha!

So this is a picture of me taken by TJ while he sat for a small break. No way was I giving him the camera while he skated...although, I was tempted. lol I should ahve brought his fisher price camera. D'oh!

Here he is skating on his own. Well, I think it's more like foot shuffling than skating. lol

I snapped this one just as he started to fall.

My boy had a great day. I'm so happy to get to share this stuff with him.

Mick D's on a cold, cold, Sunday afternoon.

Perry and I thought the kids would enjoy going to McDonalds for lunch on Sunday. They were very excited when we told them. Chelsea wanted to go to the one with 2 BIG slides. How could we say no. lol Of to Georgetown we went. It was a nice sunny (albeit, bitterly cold) day so a small drive sounded great to me. Dang, it was so cold, the van had just warmed up as we arrived....Brrr. I brought my camera along on this jaunt to get some play in action shots. And, just because lately, I haven't been taking enough pictures.

First though, I have to sneak in this adorable pic of TJ taken just after he finished his homework before we went to Mc Donalds. Notice that Santa brought him his two front (upper) teeth for Christmas. How cool is that!

So now, here's the McD pics...

The Food tray! Not too bad for a famiuly of 5.
We're pretty good at sharing. :)

Chel loved her FurReal happy meal toy and
wanted to feed it right away.

I wish I could remember what Alex said because
it was kinda funny. Anyway he's playing pretend
with his burger. Silly boy!

New Glasses

Last Thursday I got new glasses. I must have worn my old ones for 8-10 years...at least. It was time for a change on a few points...

1.) The old one had just had it and were about to fall apart...I think.

2) Small change in prescription

3) STYLE - OMG, I was soooo outdated. The new ones look great! I'm sure in 10-15 years I'll wonder what the heck I was thinking. lol

So here's me in my new glasses...

(Thanks to my friend Kelly who came to scrapbook with me Saturday night and took my picture for me.)

Swimming Lessons - Round 2

Today the kids started their second round of swimming lessons. They had lots of fun. Their new instuctors are guys this time and the kids seemed to like them. I didn't get to take pics of them in the pool because we were told there will 2 scheduled sessions for picture taking. Before the announcement I did get some of them in the dressing room and on deck poolside. Guess that's better than nothing.

A better day

Today, I thought I was going to feel groggy and foggy minded as I didn't get much sleep last night. Much to my surprise I felt better than I have in a week. For the first time since Saturday, I didn't have a headache. The sun shone this morning too. I got work done that I've been trying to do since Tuesday. It all just felt good. I like good days.

Yesterday I went sking with TJ and his class for the second time. He did even better than the first. After falling down he was able to get up with little effort from me. It amazes me at how hard something can be for him and then he just gets it the next time. He is such an inspiration.

After skating and shopping I picked up Alex & Chelsea and we all came home. The kids were being good so I took a break and hopped onto my computer and order "Love Life - Collected. I am happy about this and am looking forward to receiving it.

I called my eye doctor to see if my new glasses had come in. They did on Wednesday but were made wrong and had to be sent out again. I hope to get them in a week or less. I want them so badly. My old ones hurt and are so out of date.

Tonight I was inspired to create a canvas for my room. I will hang it where my calendar used to be. I'm thinking I'll use my Heidi Swapp butterfly mask and a quote. Not sure about the size or colours yet. We'll see if something inspires me either way soon. If not, I'll make something up.

Favourite LO's

To me, this is funny!
Our daughter Chelsea is quite the girly girl and dreams of being a princess. Of course we tell her she already is. One day she asked me if I am a princess too. I told her, I am the Princess' mommy, so I am the Queen. That automatically makes daddy the King. lol So now Perry and I refer to each other as the King and Queen, and over time we added "and together we rule!" It is our own little thing we have together. For about a year I wanted to do a LO about it but something was missing...
Fast forward to my company Christmas party...The missing piece was captured. A picture of the two of us fit for adding crowns.
I had a bit too much to drink as you can see it in my eyes, but I figured it's not likely to get much better than this. So with my new crown stamps, some bling, other stamps and a bit of ink, and oh, this fabulous paper by Creative Imaginations, I set to work and quickly put this together. It was fun, and although it's not the "Prettiest" LO I've ever done, it shall forever be one of my faves.

Explore

Following along Ali Edwards, for the 2nd year I have choosen a word of the year. This year it is "Explore". It just felt right when I choose it.

This year I want to open myself to new things. So far I signed up for BPS Reading Room and have already read a book I normally wouldn't have. It's A Thousand Splendid Suns. The book was great and very moving. Really makes one appreciate life in Canada.

Another thing I have done is start a crop at my home. I've wanted this for 2-3 years and now finally have the room to do it.

I also want to Explore my photography.
