Verse Reading

On Thursday, Alex & Chelsea had their first Verse Reading at school. Chelsea was so nervous about it, yet happy I was going to be at her school. Alex didn't even know he was going to be there. Not sure if the teacher didn't tell him or if he wasn't paying attention when she did. I've put up some pics, but be aware, the quality is really poor. School gyms with bad lighting and a mama sitting halfway across the gym doesn't make for great shots.

These two pictures were taken at the end as they were leaving the gym. Ales is feeling all happy and good because he has a special morning. Chelsea is sad. It turns out she wanted me to go back to her class. Such a darling, always wanting more, just like her mama. lol

A bonus was that the grade 1's got to go watch as selected students from their class had solo verses. The kindergardens did theirs as a group. It was so awesome to go to school and see all 3 of my kids in the gym at the same time.

Tiny Art # 43 is coming to live with me

Today I ordered her on-line. I'm so excited for her to come be with me.
She reminds me so much of myself. I really see the beauty that is in me, and that the outside isn't too bad either.
I AM Beautiful!

Oh the looks we got today...

Alex went grocery shopping with me today. We got quite a few looks from the other shoppers and an occasional comment too. You might think that shopping with a 5 year old those looks comments would be negative. Not! The looks were sweet smiles and some awwww's. How nice is that! As we were walking in the door behind a somewhat older lady, Alex piped up and said " I love you mommy!" Of course I replied that I loved him too. She turned around with a big smile and said very nicely that she hopes that he still feels that way when we get older. Somehow, I think he will. We have so much love and respect for each other that I can't imagine age would come between us. Don't get me wrong, I know the teen years will be treacherous, but I think once we pass those years things will smoothen out again.

Alex was just a treat today. He sat in the front part of the shopping carts and said nice things spontaneously the whole trip. He really made me feel very loved and like I must be doing something right. I love getting to spend a little alone time with each child, even if it is grocery shopping. He's my sweet boy!

Beautiful, wonderful, beautiful day

So 2 weeks ago the kids were wearing snow pants to school. It has been getting warmer all week, which is very welcome. Check out what I saw today...

Today was a full on fun packed day. We went to Payless BOGO sale to get sneakers and sandals for Chelsea and were going to McD's after. The kids decided that they wanted to go to the one with 2 slides (which is in Georgetown) so I thought, heck why not, let's go. (First we went to our close McD's and got lunch to bring home to daddy) The kids had a blast and were pretty good once we got into the funzone. We stayed quite a while.

Then we went to a small scrapbook store in Georgetown. The kids sat and coloured a bunch of pics while I looked around and picked up a really cool set of big letter stamps. A girl can never have too many letter stamps...right!

Then we went to Tim's and picked up some cookies, went home for a few minutes while I prepared Alex's favourite supper (Shake n Bake chicken drums). I gave Perry instructions on when to turn on the oven and we headed out again.

We went to the school park (aka The Creative Playground"). Then we went to the Northwood Park playground. We finally got home about 5:30 just as supper was coming out of the oven. After supper the kids played video games and watched TV and just kinda relaxed.

Tonight Perry and I were supposed to go to a Jack & Jill for our friends; however, we were unable to secure a babysitter. I told him to go and I'd stay with the kids. I also offered to drive him there and he can get a cab home. Since he was leaving when the kids should have been going to bed, I got them dressing in their PJ's before we left and let them have their snack in the van. They thought it was so cool to go out in the van wearing PJ's. Funny kids.

As I was putting Chelsea to bed I asked her what was her favourite part of the day. Now, I was thinking the answer would be shopping for shoes, going to McD's, or playing at the park. Nope! Her favourite part of the day was wearing PJ's in the van. Guess I didn't have to knock myself out today to make her happy, I'll have to remember that. lol Ah, yeah, they had a great day. They all went to bed very happy, very content, and very tired. And, I had a great day too. I really love being with them. They are so much fun and such really great, really cool kids. I'm blessed.

Anyway...some photos from today...Notice the shorts, it was warm enough to wear shorts. Woohoo!

TJ swinging in the playground. It was so cool to see him pump after I started him off with a little push. He's starting to get the hang of it...or should I say swing of it.

Chelsea had her turn on the swing too.

Alex has such a cheesy grin on his face it's funny. I was having trouble getting a pic of his cute little face. Every time I cued him to look at me he knew it was for a photo and would show me his cheesy grin. I just love that smile boy, don't ever loose it, except maybe on your wedding day. lol Heck, no, don't even loose it then, it just wouldn't be you.

Snoze Snuddgies

Get that title! I can't help but smile when I hear the words spoken, or even, just when I think about it. What's a Snoze Snuggie you might ask. Well, if you did, I'd tell you that it's really called a Nose Nudgie. It's what I call it when Jiver (the good kitty) presses his nose against my nose so hard it slips off onto my face. It's his litle way of showing how much he loves me. He's such a cute kitty cat.

For the last week Jive has been visiting Chelsea's room while I'm putting her to bed and she saw us di this and wanted him to give her Nose Nuddgies too but when she says it, it doesn't come out quite right, so now it is commonly reffered to as Snoze Snuddgies (gradually being shortened to just Snuddgies). This is a good thing because Jive hasn't actually nudged her nose yet. He kinda does it to her hand, or arm, or face. She thinks he's so cute now and his visits have become part of her bedtime routine.

It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see how fond of each other they are becoming. She's so gentle and kind with him. She thinks he's "soooo cute" and tells him every few seconds. I'm pretty proud of him too, considering not so long ago he wouldn't be caught within 20 feet of a child.

Now, if only I had a picture of these gentle tender moments...

Signs of Spring

We are finally rid of the snow. I brought my camera to work one fine day this week and on my lunch break took some pictures of some of the signs of Spring around my work place.

Digital scrapping with Templates

Digital templates puzzled me, until today. Jessica Sprague has a tutorial at the Creating Keepsakes website. I watched it today and the puzzle was solved. There were also 2 free templates and I created LO's from each this evening. Here they are...

Today...

Today I loaded a truck for the first time. It was a bit tricky , but I picked up a few tips for next time. :) My co-workers are so awesome in giving advice and coaching. And even though I struggled a bit at times, they were very supportive and told me I did great! That's pretty cool!

So today I...
...moved 4 long skids (~10+ ft) to get at the one that had to go onto the truck,
...loaded the big long skid onto the truck,
...didn't hurt anyone in the process,
...weighed a 12ft skid (902 lbs)
...dropped a 902 lbs skid on the weight scales a little too hard. (Jim says he heard a bang and saw lights flashing lol),
...banged the forks into the weight scale trying to pick the skid back up,
...moved the skid to the other end of the plant and rested it down gently,
...didn't hurt anyone,
...struggled to pick up another 12 ft skid for what felt like 10+ minutes (not sure how long it really was),
...hit the brakes too hard and flipped said skid off the forks a little,
...didn't hurt anyone,
...manged to get the skid properly (although a little uneven) back onto the forks,
...placed it gently onto the weight scale,
...didn't hurt anyone.
Then an in-town truck showed up and since we had to move fast, Karen took over so she could get the skid parked, and load our truck. I think it was actually a bit of a relief because it felt like I had been at it forever!

When Karen came back into the office she told me I did great. How kind of her. :) Andrea said that her and Kelly are proud of me because of how I just get on and go without previous experience like they all had. Kelly told me she watched for a couple of minutes and that I looked comfortable on the forklift and not scared at all. Eh, I'm not scared, I'm learning. I think it's cool!

So that's my excitement using my new ILT License today. Maybe I'll scrapbook this one.

I Got my ILT License

Yep, that's me licensed to drive a forklift. Bahahahaha!!! I think it's reallllly cool!

Last Saturday, my whole department went for the course. The others were just getting their licenses renewed, but this was a first for me. Yesterday morning I got handed my card and by afternoon I was moving skids around. Turns out it was the wrong skids, but hey, at least I got on the thing and moved it...without hurting anyone!!! lol So here I am sitting on a lift truck posing for a picture with my new License to drive an Industrial Lift Truck. How Cool!
