This was the first time ever the kids went to a circus and they weren't quite sure what to expect. Last night I told TJ we sit in seats and watch a show his reply was "That doesn't sound like so much fun." He was hoping more for a fair type thing. Yet when Perry dropped him off at the sitters this morning he told his dad not to forget to pick them up early and take them to the circus. Cute!
We get there and there are elephant rides, balloons, face painting, pony & cart rides, cotton candy, popcorn, slurpies, and glow in the dark thingies. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ We decided right away we weren't getting into all that x 3 kids. Much to many $$$$$$! Chelsea wanted to go on an elephant ride but was somewhat satisfied she couldn't go because it cost money. Good girl! I was afraid it would ruin it for her but she pulled through and still had a good time. At intermission TJ wanted a ballon (fancy shaped, expensive kind) and cried when he couldn't have one. It totally bummed him out and put a sour spin on the whole deal for him. Ugh! He did enjoy the show, we know we watched him enjoy it, but afterwards he was bummed out again and kept talking negative. A kids gotta learn they don't always get everything they want...right!?!
We did share a cotton candy as we waited for the show to start. Yummmm! Been probably 20 years since I had cotton candy. It was as good as I remember! The kids loved it too, another first for them. At intermission, Perry got popcorn and a slurpie that we all shared too. We are usually a pretty good at family sharing. I think that's pretty cool!
I brought my Nikon with me hoping to get some half decent pictures. We had lousy seats for picture taking but here's a few I captured...good or bad...
Yummmmyyyy! Gotta love this cotton candy. We all got in the act. No photo of me because I had the camera. ;p
Chelsea loved the elephants, so did I.
